Why see Diana Krall?

Diana Krall's 2025 tour!

Grammy-award-winning Canadian jazz singer-songwriter and piano extraordinaire, Diana Krall is embarking on another tour across North America in 2025. Expect to hear tunes from her newest release, 2020's This Dream Of You alongside hits from her multimillion-selling three-decade career in the limelight.

A Modern Music Icon

With her pre-bop piano style, cool and sensual singing, and gorgeously photogenic looks, Krall took the jazz world by storm in the late 1990s with the release of her first studio album, Stepping Out, in 1993. Her third album, All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio (1996), helped show off her singer-pianist roots and earned her a Grammy nomination and several prime Billboard positions, cementing her name as one of top popular Jazz artists around.

Born into a musical family, Diana Krall began learning to play the piano at the tender age of four and performed with a jazz group during her High School years, as well as performing solo at local restaurants. Her perseverance paid off - upon graduating high school, she was awarded a Scholarship to study music at the esteemed Berklee College of Music. Her time there was beneficial in more ways than one, for it was only some encouragement from one of her music teachers that she began taking her singing more seriously!

Diana Krall and here musicians were flawless as usual

After seeing her in Dallas in 2015 where she offered most of her fair in straight up fashion, I was thrilled on her new takes on several pieces, particularly Dancing Cheek to Cheek. She took them apart and put them back together in great jazz arrangements. And with two world class musicians backing her, it was amazing. However, she overused her breathless in many of the offerings. In the lower registers she was almost flat with it and somewhat difficult to understand. And as usual, she should never talk to the audience. So often just doesn’t make sense in her brief attempts to engage. What makes up for all of that is her exquisite skills at the piano. Never a questionable note, the arrangements were awesome, and her backing team is equally skilled. It was especially worth every penny to hear something different from her than her standard arrangements. ... Read more

Fabulous Venue! Fabulous Band! Fabulous Krall!

Diana Krall and her world-class musicians performed an exquisite set Saturday evening at the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts. Krall was funny and entertaining, but her voice and piano skills were the highlight of the evening; I had the extra gift of being seated where I could see her hands, which added a visual component to the marvelous sounds. The jazz guitarist and "fiddler" were nothing short of amazing. So glad I was there to witness this special event! ... Read more

The Stars Fall for Diana Krall

Last night's concert by Diana Krall and friends was top-notch. Each player had their say - and the ensemble as a whole thoroughly delighted the audience who attended. I'll be sure to get tickets early when Diana Krall comes back to Madison. White hot - but in such a unique, understated way - a total delight to those of us who revel in such musical merry-making! ... Read more
